Every commissioned sculpture begins with a conversation — about who it's for, what it needs to say, and what will make it last. Whether it marks a loss, celebrates a bond, or captures something of a place or culture, the work is always personal. These are some of the pieces I've made for private clients, families, and organisations over the years.
If you have something in mind, get in touch — I'd love to hear about it.
Khanda Water Fountain
My most recent commissioned sculpture — a Khanda water fountain carved in Oamaru stone.
Echo of Three Lands
A sculpture honouring Welsh, Scottish, and New Zealand heritage — three cultures woven into one piece of Oamaru stone.
Kinship
A commissioned sculpture exploring connection and belonging, carved in Oamaru stone.
Scottish Thistle
A commissioned Oamaru stone sculpture of the Scottish thistle — carved as a personal tribute to Scottish heritage.
The Crossing — Winds and Tides of Whitianga
A sculpture capturing the spirit of Whitianga — its winds, its tides, and the crossing that defines the place.
A commercial commission for a Reiki practitioner — cupped hands carved in sandstone representing the generation of healing energy, designed to become the visual symbol of her business.
Every commission is different — but the process follows the same three steps.
💬
1. The Conversation
We talk about what you want the sculpture to mean, where it will live, and what size and form will suit the space. If you're nearby I'll visit in person — otherwise we work by photo and email.
✏️
2. The Design
I develop your ideas into a sketch for approval. Nothing is ordered or begun until you're happy with the design and we've agreed on the details.

3. The Carving
I carve your sculpture in Oamaru stone, keeping you updated with photos at each stage. When it's finished, you approve it before final payment and delivery is arranged.
Prices range from $1,500 to $5,000 depending on size and complexity — with most commissions sitting somewhere in the middle. For full details on pricing, sealing, and delivery, see the commission page.
