Acylic Painting of Rapaki Jetty / Painted 2006 for a charity auction

  Rapaki Jetty / 2006 Rapaki Jetty (In honour of the Gallipoli campaign)  Rapaki Jetty / Size, 100cm x 80cm / Medium, Acrylic / Sold Rapaki is a small Maori settlement in Banks peninsula just over the Port Hills from the city of Christchurch. The jetty was built to honour the local men who fought and died at Gallipoli in WW1. This painting was brought by the late well known New Zealand children's author Margaret Mahy at a charity art auction.

This commissioned sculpture goes back to March 2014, and it is one of my more crazier projects. Don't get me wrong, It was awesome to do. But when that huge block of stone arrived I honestly had to ask "What have I got myself into?."  When the block was delivered, I was just a little worried because it stood 2.5 meters high and we were still getting occasional earthquakes in Christchurch.
