Replica Of Alexander The Great

After creating the replica sculpture of the Lion Of Chaeronea, the same customer contacted me to make a replica of Alexander The Great. I studied many photos online to work out how to approach this task. I decided to work with Mount Somers Stone as it has a more refined finish to Oamaru stone, but the downside is I cannot get it cut to size; instead, I have to choose a piece of rock that I think will work out for this project. This makes it more challenging to plan and draw out the design. Also, Mount Somers stone is far less predictable than Oamaru stone.  I have to take great care whilst chiselling as large pieces can break away easily.  Fortunately, everything went very smoothly from start to finish, and my customer was pleased with his replica sculpture of Alexander The Great.
